"This Twentieth century business and residential area was developed by John D. Weeden Jr. during the building of Wilson Dam and the World War I Defense plants. Weeden Heights was carved from his 3,800-acre Sweetwater Plantation, the former home of his grandfather, Governor Robert M. Patton. The slave village, with its 23 small cabins facing a community square, was located north of the Broadway Recreation Center. An unmarked slave cemetery is nearby. In 1871 the Pattons gifted a 25-acre farm in this area to a former slave, Edmund Patton, 'in consideration of his faithfulness and fidelity.'" -Florence Historical Board marker, 2009.

This is a 12 foot tall granite stele bearing the relief image of an eagle, and an incised image of the town seal. It sits in a flagstone ter­race, surrounded by nine bronze tablets inscribed with the names of veterans from WWI, WWII, and the Korean and Vietnam Wars. It was erected in 1952.

The inscription on this monument reads:

A tribute of honor to
the Soldiers, Sailors and Marines
who served their country in the World War
from the Town of Wells, Maine
The Honor Roll
[Only those who died in service are transcribed]

The Wesley Bolin Memorial Plaza, located in front of the Arizona state capitol, is home to 30 memorials commemorating important people, events, and symbols throughout Arizonian and/or American history. Memorial #9 is dedicated to Arizonians who fought in the First World War.

This memorial was sculpted by Anton Schaaf and was dedicated on November 11, 1928. It is a full length bronze figure of a World War I soldier, dressed in uniform and holding his rifle barrel in his left hand. In his right hand is his helmet, raised high to the air.  On the granite base is a bronze plaque which depicts the seal of the U.S. encircled by a laurel wreath.  Beneath the seal are the images of eight men, four in uniform and four civilians, with one from each shaking hands.

The inscription on this memorial, erected in 1933, reads:

THIS MEMORIAL IS DEDICATED TO THE MEN FROM WEST LIBERTY AND COMMUNITY WHO HAVE SERVED OUR NATION IN ITS CONFLICTS THE ARISTOCRACY OF TODAY IS NOT ONE OF BIRTH OR WEALTH BUT OF THOSE WHO DO THINGS FOR THE WELFARE OF THEIR FELLOWMEN.

The inscription on this memorial reads:
This memorial is dedicated to the men from West Liberty and community who have served our nation in its conflicts .The aristocracy of today is not one of birth or wealth but of those who do things for the welfare of their fellowmen.

The plaque on the monument is scribed with the following: In Memory Of The Dead In Honor of The Living World War Soldiers Of Allegan County, Mich. Erected By The Club Women Of The County - 1925.

A stepped base of Barre granite supports a sphere, perched on which is a bronze eagle with outstretched wings. Plaques on the base indicate that it was dedicated in May of 1924 in memory of the cit­izens of Swanzey who died in service in the Revolutionary War, War of 1812, Civil War, WWI, WWII, and the Korean and Vietnam Wars.

In this small park created by the intersection of three roads is a rectangular granite marker bearing a bronze inscription plaque. It was donated by the West Tisbury Grange No. 27 to commemorate those who served in WWI and WWII.

The West Virginia Veterans Memorial was designed by Charleston native P. Joseph Mullins, and built in stages from 1990-1999. The monument honors the over 10,000 West Virginian soldiers who lost their lives in the service of their nation. The memorial was originally funded by private donations and completed with the support of the state legislature. Though the memorial honors all West Virginian veterans, inscribed names are limited to four twentieth century conflicts for which data on West Virginian service exists: World War I, World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War. The Veterans Memorial is a popular gathering place for events and ceremonies that involve veterans.

This World War I Memorial was dedicated on Armistice Day, November 11, 1937.  The names of the Westerly citizens who served in World War I are listed on bronze plaques on the central die of the Memorial. The Memorial was modified and rededicated on Veterans Day 2002 to include bronze plaques with the names of those who served in World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War.

Erected in 1920 by the employees of the Western Maryland Railway Company, this Honor Roll lists the names of the employees from the Western Maryland Railway Company who served during World War I.

An octagonal Westford granite base supports a metal bald eagle with its wings outstretched, and the 13 foot tall monument is sur­rounded by a five foot tall circular hedge. It was designed by Henry L. Norton and dedicated in 1924 to honor Westford's men and women who served in all wars, through and including WWI.
