 rus McCromick diamond case in Chicago for the Pinkerton Company. During Wor
 ld War 1, he headed the Le Mans District of the U.S. Army Division of Crimi
 nal Division of Investigation solving 100 murders in 100 days. He wrote a n
 umber of books and was the editor at large for Reader's Digest, making him 
 one of the most widely read authors in history. During World War Two, he ha
 d a critic role in the U.S. Army, solving problems around the world. He was
  awarded the Distinguished Service Medal for his efforts, the Highest Award
  for non combat award actions. \nA friend of Ernest Hemingway, and working
