Made of black granite, the Warrior Memorial is 10 feet tall, and it’s human figures are close to life-size. 
At the memorial’s highest point is an eagle’s head. The eagle is a symbol of strength, says Corwin “Corky” Clairmont, the memorial’s designer and Art Director at Salish Kootenai College since 1984.
The eagle’s wings span the length of the memorial, enclosing a series of images, including those of 2 bison and 2 warriors. One of those figures is a warrior woman. An infant n a cradleboard hangs off the saddle horn, and the Woman Warrior riding the horse is holding an Eagle fan. Listed on the walls are the names of more than 1,200 men and women (Native and non-Native) from the Flat Head Reservation who have served in the military.

This massive, approx. 40' long monument commemorates the US land & naval forces that participated in this country's wars up to & including World War I.  It is composed of 42 bronze figures representing both civilians & military from all branches of service.  Included are a Red Cross nurse, a conscientious objector, fathers & mothers seeing their children off to war, and a portrait of the monument's benefactor, Amos H. Van Horn, as a mustached Union soldier.  The artist, Gutzon Borglum also included figures modeled after himself & his son, Lincoln.  All the figures, as well as two horses, are depicted ascending a steep incline.  The monument is situated at the end of a large reflecting pool. 

Gutzon Borglum is best known for his sculptural depictions on Mount Rushmore, SD.

WWI memorial in front of Warwick City Hall, Warwick, RI. Dedicated July 4, 1919.

Plaque description:
"In grateful remembrance of the young men of this town who entered the military and naval service of the United States of America in the World War and offered their lives to defend the sacred institutions of their country, abolish the rule of tyrants, and to secure to all peoples the blessings of liberty this statue of enduring bronze was erected by the town of Warwick."

This is a memorial to the students from Washington and Lee University who fought and died during World War I. The inscription reads:

Max Mansle sculpted this bronze statue of a WWI doughboy throwing a hand grenade. It stands on a granite pedestal bearing four commemorative tablets. It was installed in 1923 to commemorate the veterans of WWI.

On the grounds of the Washington County Courthouse, this plaza consists of individual monuments to those residents that fought and died in the U.S. wars. The monument for WW1 reads: “In sacred memory of the men of Washington County who made the supreme sacrifice in World War 1,” and lists eight names. 

Washington County All Veterans Memorial

The Washington County All Veterans Memorial is dedicated to the military service of the men from Washington County, IA. The memorial is located just west of downtown Washington. It includes four black granite walls with dedications to local veterans. The Washington County All Veterans Memorial is a good example of late 19th century American architecture.

"Erected in honor of the noble sons of Washington County."

This World War I monument is located in front of the old Washington County Courthouse in Springfield, KY.

This Memorial was designed by Louis R. Fucito and dedicated in 1958 as a tribute to those who fought in wars from the Revolutionary to Vietnam.  It consists of a square granite block out of which rise four hexagonal granite shafts, producing an abstract memorial.  Connecting bands are formed with Armed Forces emblems. Two are incised with the stars and stripes shield, topped by an eagle.
