One of E. M. Viquesney's "Spirit of the American Doughboy" statues.

This is a bronze figure of a WWI infantryman advancing through the barbed wire and stumps of No Man's land, carrying a hand grenade and rifle. It was sculpted by E.M. Viquesney and ded­icated on May 30,1929, to honor WWI veterans. In 1969, this statue and three other statues were removed from the Memorial Bridge on SR 9 on the Kiowa-Greer County line because of vandalism, and was reded­icated at its present location on November 11, 1978.

The Hollywood American Legion building itself is a World War One monument.

The three story, 33,000 square foot facility located on Highland Avenue, one block south of the Hollywood Bowl. The buildings architecture is Egytian Revival-Morroccan Deco and was finished in 1929.

The post is a Los Angeles Registered Historical Landmark and has been a vibrant venue since it's completion. The Post has three floors and a projection booth at the roof level. It's lower floor is partially below ground. Connected to the lower floor by wide carpeted hallways leading up to 55' high Main Atrium supported by four Egyptian Columns.

Open-air Center Atrium leads to 800 capacity Main Auditorium containing 334 fixed theater type seats around a 2,000 square foot Oak hardwood dance floor. The raised stage is a proscenium design with a film screen. The Auditorium ceiling is 55' high and has 8 cement buttress columns that arch floor to ceiling.

All exterior doors are copper sheathed. The Post proudly displays significant Bronze Plaques with Legion members names who have gone to Post Everlasting. Prominent among them are Clark Gable, Adolphe Menjou and Gene Autrey.

Double eight-foot Walnut doors laced with iron and sheathed in copper act as an entrance. The Porch area out front features a six-foot bronze statue of Vietnam Vet in Bronze, a Japanese WWII cannon, Bronze Plaques of Commanders of Post and wrought iron double-gated fence opening on Highland Avenue. There is also a History/Military Museum with an extensive collection; a 4,000 volume Military and Hollywood library.

The collection of historical items of both Hollywood and the military exploits of Post members is a must see on any visit to its vaunted facilities.

This memorial, erected in June 1920, honors seven men from Whitewater Normal School who died in World War I.  The inscription reads:

Designed and erected by Hopewell American Legion Post #80, the first monument in Virginia dedicated to the men who made the supreme sacrifice in World War I, was introduced to the public on Memorial Day 1921.

This memorial wall is located on the grounds of the Hopi Veteran's Memorial Center, and it is inscribed with the names of Hopi veterans from all wars. The wall is composed of white-washed concrete with decorative green trim along the bottom. The veterans’ names are inscribed upon brown plaques that have been placed upon the white-washed wall.

A memorial to the local boys of Hopkinsville who lost their lives in the World War.

This is a full-sized bronze figure of a WWI doughboy carrying his rifle over his right shoulder, and holding his left hand clenched in a fist. Strapped to his back are a field pack, helmet and canteen. A German helmet is next to his right foot. This was sculpted by Theo A.R, Kitson and dedicated on November 8,1931, lo honor the Hopkinton men who served in WWI.

Lieutenant J. Horace Farnham, of the Canadian Royal Flying Corps, was killed in an aeroplane accident in England, April 25, 1918. Mr. Farnham enlisted in the Canadian Royal Flying Corps in August, 1917, and for a time was stationed at Toronto; later he was sent to Kelly Field, San Antonio, Tex., where he finished his training in aviation. He was then sent to England for intensive training, and specialization on war machines, at the R. F. C. camp at Yatesbury, Wiltshire. Mr. Farnham was at the time of his death a senior in the evening division of the College of Business Administration. He was one of the most popular men in college. The members of his class presented to the college a fine portrait of Mr. Farnham; this portrait has been placed on the walls of the college library.

The SS Wisconsin was a steamboat that sank in Lake Michigan off the coast Kenosha, Wisconsin, United States. In 2009 the shipwreck site was added to the National Register of Historic Places. The Wisconsin was built at the Dry Dock Complex in 1881. During World War One, she served as a convalescent hospital ship named the General Robert M. O'Reilly after Robert Maitland O'Reilly, a former Surgeon General of the United States Army. In addition to Wisconsin and General Robert M. O'Reilly, the vessel was also named the Naomi, the E. G. Crosby and Pilgrim. The Wisconsin foundered in October of 1929 after a leak occurred during a violent storm. The wreckage site is a popular location for historians, archaeologists and divers. It lies in 90 to 130 feet (27 to 40 m) of water, 6.5 miles (10.5 km) south-southeast of Kenosha.

Hostess House was dedicated in 1919 to those who died in World War I. The building originally served Camp Fremont as a meeting place for serviceman and visitors. When moved from its original site to Palo Alto it became the first municipally-sponsored community center in the nation. It is the only remaining structure from California's World War I Army training camps. Designed by Julia Williams in 1918, it was dedicated one year later to those who died in World War I.
