Commemoration ceremony in honor of Joseph Guyton (First American killed on German soil in WWI) on Memorial Day May 28th

The city of Evart will be holding a commemoration ceremony in honor of Joseph Guyton (First American killed on German soil in WWI) on Memorial Day May 28th.
The ceremony will begin at 10:00 AM at Guyton Park in Evart. Representative Jason Wentworth will deliver a commemoration speech followed by a parade down Main Street to the Guyton Memorial Bridge on US 10, where a wreath will be tossed into the Muskegon River. The ceremony will then move to Joseph Guyton’s gravesite at Forest Hill Cemetery in Evart for a brief historical background and ceremonial 21 Gun Salute by the honor ...
