In recognition of the 100th anniversary of the United States’ entry into World War I, Morris County Historical Society offers a provocative exhibit highlighting The Great War’s impact on Morris County. The new exhibit 1917: World War, Women’s Rights, and Weaponry Sciences, displayed throughout Acorn Hall, will be available from Sunday, February 19 through Sunday, June 25, 2017. “Over Here: Newark Mobilizes for World War I” is an exhibit prepared by Dr. George Robb and will be at the Newark Public Library, 5 Washington Street. Dr. Robb is a widely published historian and Newark resident, and also a professor of history at William Paterson University.
This outstanding WWI exhibit, will contain historic photographs, sheet music, pamphlets, posters, and other materials from the Library’s and his personal collections. It’s well worth seeing! It will be available for viewing in the Main Library’s third floor gallery from April 6 throughout the rest of the year.

Brothers in Arms: Memories of the Great War

Liberty Hall Museum will be commemorating the 100th anniversary of the United States entering with World War I with an exhibit entitled, “Brothers in Arms: Memories of the Great War”, in which the museum will look at the service of Captain John Kean, his brother Congressman, Robert W. Kean, as well as their three Roosevelt cousins, George, John and Philip. The exhibit, using firsthand accounts from their letters and postcards sent home, as well as, photographs and personal objects, will allow visitors to walk in their footsteps as they were sent off to basic training in 1917 to fighting overseas ...

WWI Remembrance of Legacy Exhibit

The Library Company of Burlington will join many other libraries throughout New Jersey, exhibiting various aspects of World War I as the nation commemorates the Centennial of World War I. While exhibit space is somewhat limited at the Library Company, historian Erik L. Burro and Library Director, Sharon Vincz, decided to honor the American Doughboy, in a photo tribute to those who contributed to the ultimate victory “over there”.
