Memorial dedicated to Nevada County residents who lost their lives in World War I. Memorial is in the form of an stucco alcove with a bronze memorial plaque mounted on the interior wall flanked by columns.
The Nevada State Veterans Memorial, Las Vegas is a monument recognizing the service and sacrifice of Americans, especially Nevada veterans and their families. The two-acre memorial and park features 18 larger-than-life statues depicting soldiers, from the Revolutionary War to the Global War on Terror and civilians. The memorial serves as a reminder to forever honor the proud principles upon which this nation was founded, and the spirit and heroism of those who have, and will, answer the call of duty.

This metal statue is of a WWI infantryman advancing through the stumps and barbed wire of No Man's land, while carrying a grenade and rifle. It was sculpted by E.M. Viquesney.
This World War I Memorial is on the campus of the University of Delaware, dedicated in honor of the rural men of New Castle County who entered the military service during the First World War.
A life-size bronze male figure dressed in a sleeveless Roman tunic stands with his hands resting on a shield in front of him. The statue's base is flanked by an inscribed bench and a three-sided upright decorated with plaques and reliefs. It was sculpted by Carl Augustus Heber (1875-1976) and cast in 1919 or 1920. With the later plaques, it is a tribute to the Rockland County residents who served in WWI, WWII, and the Korean, Vietnam, and Persian Gulf Wars.

On Memorial Day, 1922, local citizens dedicated a monument to the county’s war dead. For more than 50 years, the Memorial sat at Market and 13th streets, in the median of the main thoroughfare through town, and right outside New Hanover High School. In the 1970s, as the city moved to put an overpass across the street, connecting the two parts of New Hanover High school, the Memorial was moved and placed in front of the school.
In the spring of 2014, a group of people gathered to explore the idea of restoring, cleaning, and moving the memorial to the Riverfront. The Memorial was rededicated on November 11, 2014.
This is a Westerly granite sculpture of a Union soldier wearing a thigh-length coat, brimmed hat, pants and laced boots. He carries a knapsack and bayonet and holds a musket by the barrel. It sits on a stepped base, the lower section of which is decorated with reliefs of the U.S. shield, crossed lilies, swords and flags, crossed cannon, anchor and rope, and the badge of the G.A.R. On plaques are listed the names of the local citizens who died in wars from the Revolutionary War through WWI.
Wetzel County has the only "living" war memorial erected in memory of this county's servicemen who gave their lives in the service of their country. The war memorial, located in New Martinsville, is one of two memorials approved by the act of the legislature. The other is located at Williamson.
Unlike the state sanctioned "monument" at Williamson, the monument erected by the citizens of Wetzel County is a spacious building that has served as a "living" reminder to the memory of the country's servicemen who have died in the defense of their country.
The Wetzel County War Memorial was proposed by the New Martinsville Kiwanis Club in June, 1927 and immediately the American Legion, Marne Post No 28,of New Martinsville took up the challenge, and on August 9, 1927 requested the Wetzel County Court "to assist in the erection of a memorial in memory of those who in the World War and other wars laid down their lives for their country." The American Legion presented petitions to the county court bearing names of hundreds of Wetzel County residents asking for the memorial. The request was granted and the court included in its estimate a levy of five cents on each $100 valuation of taxable property in the county. The levy raised approximately $18,000.
The American Legion had also asked the city of New Martinsville to lay a special levy for the memorial, but instead the city contributed $1,000 to the fund. The American Legion pledged $1,000 plus additional funds to be raised by popular subscription. The $1,000 pledged by the American Legion came from ex-servicemen from throughout the county. Other funds were contributed through the efforts of county, civic and fraternal groups. The Legion's final contribution was approximately $12,000.
The building has a room dedicated to World War I veterans who served and to those who gave their life. Following World War II, a huge honor roll was placed in the ballroom noting those who served and died in World War II.
