South side of Idaho Highway 6, East of Ponderosa Road
Potlatch, Idaho 83855
Inscription on bronze plaque inset in stone chimney:
1914 A.D. 1929 1918
ERECTED BY ROBINSON POST No. 81
THE AMERICAN LEGION
DEDICATED TO THE MEMORY OF THOSE WHO
SERVED THEIR COUNTRY DURING THE WORLD WAR
This American Legion Post and a Veterans Of Foreign Wars Post still meet in Potlatch.
It appears this building was also used, at one time, as a roadhouse, Carter’s Log Inn.
A call to the Post Commander indicated that the Legion and VFW still own this historic
log building, which strongly resembles the American Legion Post in Filmore, UT, also
built with logs from Idaho.
