This memorial plaza features two P251 US military cannons (c. 1841), one of E.M. Viquesney's iconic "Spirit of the American Doughboy" statues, a dedication plaque, and a flagpole. It is located on the grounds of the Montana Veterans Home in Columbia Falls.

The plaque reads: Dedicated to the memory of our comrades who entered the service of their country from Flathead County and who gave their lives in the World War

The memorial stands on top of a hill close to the East edge of the cemetery surrounded by numerous military graves.
On the memorial are carved the names of all the soldiers who lost their lives in the Spanish American War, World War I, World War II, the Korean War, the Vietnam War, Desert Storm and Operation Iraqi Freedom.
The main pillar inscription on both front and back reads:

OF THOISE FROM
FLATHEAD COUNTY
WHO GAVE THEIR LIVES
IN THE SERVICE
OF THEIR COUNTRY

The World War I Memorial on the front left side of the monument contains the name of thirty-six Sons of Flathead County lost in that conflict.

This park was originally dedicated in 1948. A general Veterans Monument was originally placed and
sometime later, Veterans Memorial Walls were added. One featuring the name of World War 1 Veteran,
Lloyd A. Foss, U.S. Army.

Honoring Citizens of all Wars

This memorial was erected in 1988 by the Veterans of World War I, Department of Florida, USA Inc. and Auxiliary.  The inscription reads:

In Flanders Fields the poppies grow between the crosses row on row where buddies died so long ago.
Now that our life on earth is o’er our ship is steered toward that shore where peace doth reign forevermore.

Description:  Memorial plaza with monuments for individual wars, and with personal inscribed bricks.  An obelisk for WW1 is part of the plaza.

Inscription:  “Dedication in honor of all the veterans of Cave Springs who served in the armed services of their country.”

The grave of Private Charles Graves.

A beautiful gravesite of memorial brick pavers and guarded by two machine guns.  Graves was selected as the national "Known" soldier.  He died and was buried in France during World War I. His body was later disinterred and moved to the United States, selected to be buried at Arlington Cemetery alongside the Unknown Soldier. His mother later had his body brought home to Rome where he was buried in the family plot, and finally was reinterred by the American Legion at Myrtle Hill Cemetery. His grave is the center of the New Veterans Walkway.

Originally placed in the Carnegie Library in New Albany which now houses the Carnegie Center of Art and History.

This is a lovely pink-granite memorial at a rather undignified location in the median of Northern Boulevard. Inscribed: "The World War - In memory of those who gave their lives".

This memorial stands outside of the Potawatomi Carter Casino Hotel. It is composed of a series of sections made of black granite. On the middle section the Potawatomi seal is inscribed on top, followed by an inscription which reads: “In honor of Bodwē Wad Mi Nesh Na Bē She Ma Gne Shek.” And beneath the inscription, the five seals of the military are shown: Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard. On the left and right section of the memorial stones are inscribed the names of the veterans. Also, situated near the black granite stones is a metal statue of a Native American man sitting on the ground.

This is a monument in San Francisco's Golden Gate Park to California foresters who performed an important role during World War I.  

The inscription on the monument reads:

Dedicated on Dec. 4, 1927, the monument, made of white Italian marble, was planned to serve as a fountain for people and horses. A 1951 photo from the San Francisco Historical Photograph Collection shows a small metal bowl affixed on the monument wall that may have been a water fountain, but it’s not present today. The large marble basin in the monument’s center bottom is both today and in the 1951 photo filled with plants and dirt, but may have been a horse trough earlier.

Fallen Heroes Memorial Erected By The American Legion

There are two Soldiers and Sailors Memorials on the Green in front of the Mendota Museum and Historical Society building. This is the newest of the two, with no dedication date visible. It honors local service members lost in WW1, WW2, Korea, Vietnam, and during Peacetime. There is a bronze American Legion emblem embedded in the concrete in front of the memorial. There is also a World War 1-era M1917 155mm Howitzer Field Artillery piece nearby.

Erected at Camp Meade in 1917 by the men of the 314th Infantry Division, the cabin was constructed using trees from the forest that surrounded the post and, before the 314th was deployed to France, was used as an officers club and assembly room.  In France, the soldiers were heavily involved in the Meuse-Argonne Offensive and remained in Europe until Armistice Day on November 11, 1918.  After the war, the cabin was re-erected in Valley Forge National Historical Park and then moved again back to Fort Meade in 2012.
