Capitol Hill reception marks June 10, 2014 start of Commemoration period

The World War One Centennial Commission hosted a reception for Members of Congress, Senators, and Capitol Hill staff on June 11 to mark the beginning of the Commission's activities. The event took place in the Kennedy Caucus Room of the Russell Senate Office Building.

Representatives of a wide range of organizations attended, as well as international military attachés. The reception was the first of the official events planned by the Commission over the duration of the commemoration period from 2014 to 2019.
