Programs

Our programs currently include:

• Arts & Humanities Touring Program in partnership with the Michigan Council for Arts & Cultural Affairs.
• Great Michigan Read a biennial statewide literary program focusing on humanities themes.
• Museum on Main Street Traveling Exhibits in partnership with the Smithsonian Institution.
• Poetry Out Loud in partnership with the Michigan Council for Arts & Cultural Affairs, Poetry Foundation and the National Endowment for the Humanities and the National Endowment for the Arts.
• Prime Time Family Reading Time® in partnership with the Louisiana Endowment for the Humanities, and the American Library Association.

Grants

Our grants to nonprofit cultural organizations, community groups, libraries and schools include:

• Humanities Grants up to $15,000
• Quick Grants up to $500
• Heritage Grants up to $25,000 (Final round of funding was awarded in 2016)
• Planning Grants up to $1,000
• Arts & Humanities Touring Program Grants up to 40% of expenses, or up to $3,000 of exhibitor/presenter fees and travel expenses
