Articles, events, the start of a map of ‪World War One monuments, memorials, and historic sites found across The Badger State are just the beginning of what promises to be an outstanding site. Michael Tezlow, member of the Wisconsin Centennial Committee and Director of the Wisconsin Veterans Museum, talks about the new site and plans for the Wisconsin WW1 Centennial Commemoration.Wisconsin joins a growing number of state sites hosted by the U.S. World War One Centennial Commission. A few weeks after the United States entered World War One in the Spring 1917, the American General Staff launched an extensive training and supply infrastructure in the Cher River Valley of France and in particular near the town of Gièvres. Nearly 100 years later, the communities and associations located in the Cher Valley and in the Sologne are celebrating this historical episode by organizing a wide array of cultural activities to commemorate the friendship that evolved between the Doughboys and the population of the region. Valerie Chapeau, historian for the French region of Vallée du Cher et du Romorantinais, talks about what the region has planned for the next year.

In Episode 5,  Professor John Quigley examines "World War One and the Emerging Laws of War." Quigley is President’s Club Professor Emeritus of Law, Moritz College of Law at OSU. Before joining the Ohio State faculty in 1969, Professor Quigley was a research scholar at Moscow State University, and a research associate in comparative law at Harvard Law School, where he received his degrees. Quigley's presentation was preceded by a reading of the Rose Macaulay poem "Picnic 1917."
