ROLE DESCRIPTION:

State Education Representatives will facilitate communication between the national World War 1 Centennial Commission (WW1CC) and educators in their states.  

Representatives should be able/willing to participate in conference calls (quarterly or every two moths), and to field incoming inquiries from other educators in their state (in the vast majority of cases, they will simply direct these educators to the ww1cc.org/edu website).

BASIC RESPONSIBILITIES

• Serve as primary Point of Contact for WW1CC Education team
• Connect/Work with official State WW1 Commissions
• Serve as initial Point of Contact for other educators in state
• Provide WW1CC with important state-level information:
  • When is it taught (Grades, time of year)?
  • When are statewide District (or equivalent) conferences held?  Statewide history/social studies teachers' conferences?
• Assist WW1CC in securing access to state-level educational meetings/conferences

• Review Lessons and Resources
• Gather and curate state World War One-related lessons and resources
• Augment WW1CC Lessons with state-specific options
• Represent WW1CC at state meetings and conferences (using WW1CC-provided presentation materials)

Join the Commemoration!

We invite you to help the U.S. World War One Centennial Commission commemorate America's World War One story -- and to become part of our nation's permanent historical record!

Registration is open to all educators (teachers, program leaders, community volunteers, etc.) who have organized (or are planning on organizing) an educational or commemorative lesson/activity that engages students/youth.

These activities must be shared with an audience or a classroom. Examples of these activities include: lessons/educational projects, exhibitions, public ceremonies and performances. Read the submission criteria.

Once you have signed up and confirmed your registration, you will be able to submit information and images from your activity (or activities). All submissions that meet the required criteria will be posted at the official Commission website, and will be archived as part of our nation's permanent official record of the Centennial.  

You will also have the opportunity to sign up to receive updates and information from the Commission.
