Countdown to Veterans Day makes 36 Million impressions
Washington, DC - In a campaign championed by hundreds of WWI partners across the country, Americans everywhere answered the call to help Vets. In New Hampshire we supported Operation Care for Our Troops which provided donations and made care packages for active troops; the World War One Museum in Kansas City did a thrift store donation drive with the Disabled Veterans of America; and out of nowhere came a group of high school students in Auburn, Alabama to pay tribute to specific veterans in their area. These are just a few of the many inspiring examples of veteran-themed service across the nation. We are proud to have played a small part in such a wave of community service which also provided a good opportunity to tell the story of the first Veteran's Day, November 11,1918, the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month, which marked the cessation of hostilities in WWI.

Maryland Governor Announces WWI Commission
 Baltimore, MD - Maryland Governor Larry Hogan signed an Executive Order this Veteran's Day, establishing the Maryland World War I Centennial Commission. The commission, which will consist of 11 members appointed by the governor, will develop and execute programs, activities, and events to commemorate the 100th year anniversary of World War I. Pritzker Announces 2015 Honoree
 Chicago, IL - Pulitzer Prize-winning historian, best-selling author, and Brandeis University professor David Hackett Fischer is the recipient of the 2015 Pritzker Military Museum & Library Literature Award for Lifetime Achievement in Military Writing.
A world-class educator and author who considers himself “primarily a storyteller and old-fashioned history teacher,” Fischer accepted the award November 7 at the Museum & Library's 2015 Liberty Gala, where he was honored for an impressive body of work dedicated to enriching the understanding of military history. Sponsored by the Tawani Foundation, the Pritzker Literature Award includes a citation, medallion, and $100,000 honorarium. Read more...
